Jesse Rogers

Pastor Jesse F. Rogers grew up in Columbia, South Carolina and graduated from A.C. Flora High School in 1973.  He obtained a B.S. in Computer Science in 1982 from the University of South Carolina while working full time for Bankers Trust of South Carolina. When Bankers Trust of South Carolina was acquired by North Carolina National Bank in 1985, now Bank of America, Jesse was transferred to Charlotte, North Carolina. From there, he worked in the banking industry as a systems consultant for image item processing until 2008.

He felt called to prepare for ministry in 1999 and in 2000, enrolled in the Master of Divinity program at the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Charlotte. He completed the program and received his Master of Divinity degree in 2010 while serving as a licensed Local Pastor in the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. He served there until 2013.

He moved back to the Columbia area in 2015, coming to Chapin to help care for his father. He joined Wightman UMC in Prosperity where he became involved teaching the older Christian class. He was called to re-enter pastoral ministry while there and began the process of transferring from the Western North Carolina Conference to the South Carolina Conference. This process was completed in 2021 and he was assigned to the Pomaria Charge where he serves as pastor for Capers Chapel United Methodist Church in LIttle Mountain and New Hope United Methodist Church in Pomaria.
